Root canal treatment

About Root Canal Treatment

Root canal therapy is a delicate and important treatment in dentistry that is performed when there is a deep cavity that reaches the nerve or when there is pus in the tip of the root of a tooth that has already had the nerve removed. If left without root canal treatment, the tooth will not last long.

Since the opening of our clinic, we have adopted various techniques and equipment from Japan and abroad, and have used microscopes and rubber dam-proofing in all cases.

Although this is an important treatment, it is not highly rated by the insurance system in Japan, and is considered to be one of the unprofitable sectors, even compared to other countries. For this reason, the current trend is to recommend uninsured root canal treatment, which is featured in many specialized magazines and seminars are being actively held.

I have no intention to deny doctors who perform uninsured root canal treatment, and I deeply understand the situation. However, as a general practitioner, I do not want to lower the quality of root canal treatment, which is directly related to the patient’s main complaints such as pain, because I do not want to lower the quality due to lack of money. (If materials not covered by insurance are used, such as MTA cement, you will be charged for the cost of the treatment.)

I am also involved in prosthetic and orthodontic treatment, and I believe that if you have the same amount of money to spend, it is better to spend it on things that are worth the value of the money. We believe that it is better for you to spend money on reinforcing your teeth, balancing your entire mouth, and preventing tooth decay and gum disease than to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on one root treatment. We try to make better proposals to fit each individual’s lifestyle.
